NRMA Travel Insurance Policy Options
International comprehensive plan: The comprehensive plan offers you the peace of mind you need for your trip overseas, covering all the important aspects of your trip and more.
International essential plan: The essential plan takes care of all the essential insurance items while you are overseas, such as medical, hospital and dental expenses, luggage and personal belongings cover, and cancellations and delays.
Domestic comprehensive plan: Travelling within Australia is covered by the domestic comprehensive plan, covering you for cancellations, rentals vehicle excess, luggage and personal belongings

General Exclusions from all NRMA Policies
- Claims for costs outside of the insured period.
- Consequential loss of any kind, including financial loss or loss of enjoyment.
- Negligent behaviour resulting in loss of or damage to property, personal belongings, or bodily harm.
- Reckless behaviour as a result of drug or alcohol abuse.
- Claims as a result of war, hostility, invasion, military or other usurped power.
- Loss or damage caused by detention, confiscation or destruction by customs or other government officials.
- Claims as a result of any unlawful act committed by you.
- Claims where advance warning was given and reasonable prevention could have been taken, such as natural disasters, terrorism, and health concerns.
- Pregnancy after the 24th week.
- Claims arising from your suicide or attempted suicide or other bodily harm.
- The insolvency of a travel agent, airline carrier, tour operator, rental vehicle agent, or other service providers, resulting in their failure to provide a service.
- Claims as a result of participating in high-risk activities that are not covered by your policy.
Pre-existing Medical Conditions Covered by NRMA
NRMA travel insurance does not cover some pre-existing medical conditions and an extra premium may be necessary for certain conditions. Some conditions are automatically covered and have been listed below.

NRMA Claims Process
- Report any incidents involving theft or loss of luggage, personal effects or travel documents to the police within 24-hours of the incident taking place.
- You must take reasonable steps to prevent making a claim or minimising the claim.
- Do not make any offers of payment, or admit any liability without written consent from the provider.
- You must cooperate fully with your claim assessment and provide all the necessary information for your claim.
- Log in to your account online and start a new claim.
- Describe the reason for your claim.
- Submit all relevant documentation, including receipts, police reports, medical bills, or other proof of expenses.
- Provide your banking details for refunds.
